Single Session Pain Relief Class Virtual or In Person
Lucy Dunning, Ed.S, LPC, LCMHCS is a certified Empowered Relief Provider and is trained to provide this researched-based pain relief program. This program is endorsed by Stanford University and is NIH-funded. The program has been scientifically proven to help clients with chronic pain to reduce pain intensity, decrease pain-related distress, improve quality of life and increase sleep. As a chronic pain patient herself, Lucy has personally found a lot of value in this program from a patient perspective. This class can be offered in-person or virtually and is available in the states of NC, SC, and Georgia. In-person is only available in Georgia.
The Empowered Relief Program is largely based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and guided relaxation. The entire program takes 2 hours to complete with tools to take home to continue to develop coping skills for pain responses. Participants who participate in the program develop an understanding of pain, and pain relief skills, and develop a pain personal relief plan and a free binaural relaxation audio file. Clients can attend with a loved one for support and are able to participate in the program and ask questions. As part of the program, pain education is discussed to help gain a better understanding of pain and the connection between the brain and body. To find out more information please go to Empowered Relief (stanford.edu).
Cost is $350 for the 2 hour program and follow up session required.
The follow up session is required within 3 weeks after the program. You will book your follow up session when you book the empowered Relief Program. The follow up program is designed to check in on how you are doing and to assess your pain levels. This session can be used to discuss concerns about your individualized pain plan and how we can improve it along with additional pain de-escalation skills.
